About The Bird Box

Above is a bird box with a live camera feed setup inside, which currently updates every minute. We are hoping to attract your typical British garden birds, such as Blue Tits, Great Tits, Coal Tits, Marsh Tits, House Sparrows .etc

The most likely species to nest in the box is either the Blue or Great Tit, the bird box is currently set up in Basildon, Essex, with Blue and Great Tits very popular in the area.

We setup the bird box on the 20th February 2014 and are hoping to see the box in use before the end of March.

Once the bird box gets a visitor, we will upload short videos of the birds in action.

British Garden Birds - Tit Species

A blue tit sitting on a branch

The Blue Tit

We are expecting either the Blue Tit or Great Tit (seen below) to nest in our box, the Blue tits are very common in Essex and are very fond of nesting in Bird Boxes.

You can find information on Blue Tits at the RSPB Website

A great tit sitting on a branch

The Great Tit

The Great Tit is another type of Tit that we are expecting in the Bird Box, these having been regularly flying past the area in which the box is situated.

You can find information on Great Tits at the RSPB Website

A coal tit sitting on a branch

The Coal Tit

The Coal Tit is another type of Tit that could possibly nest in the box, however we think it is very unlikely as the area seems to be populated with Blue and Great Tits, but it still remains possible as the Coal Tit is a common garden bird in the UK.

You can find information on Coal Tits at the RSPB Website

A marsh tit sitting on a branch

The Marsh Tit

The Marsh Tit, again we feel that this is another type of Tit that we probably won't be seeing, however the name Marsh Tit is a bit misleading as these Tits are found around woodlands, parks and Gardens, so again it still remains possible.

You can find information on Coal Tits at the RSPB Website
